Doctoral Promotion Examination: Karsinah

Semarang – The Doctoral Program in Economics, Faculty of Economics and Business, Diponegoro University (FEB UNDIP) once again held its Doctoral Promotion Examination with Promevendus Karsinah as its candidate. The examination took place in the Doctoral Meeting Room, Pertamina Hall, 3rd Floor, Dean’s Building, FEB UNDIP, Tembalang.

In the promotion examination, Karsinah defended her dissertation, entitled “Development of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises in the Craft Sector in Central Java Towards Going International.” This research examines strategies for developing micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSEs) in the craft sector to increase their competitiveness and penetrate the global market. The dissertation is expected to provide both a scientific contribution and policy recommendations for strengthening the competitiveness of MSEs as a vital pillar of the national economy.

In preparing her dissertation, Karsinah was supervised by Prof. Dr. Drs. Purbayu Budi Santosa, M.S. as her Promoter and Dr. agr. Deden Dinar Iskandar, S.E., M.A., served as Co-Promoter. Both provided comprehensive academic guidance to ensure the successful completion of the research and contribute to the development of economics, particularly in the areas of people’s economics and the empowerment of MSEs.

The promotion defense took place in a dynamic academic atmosphere. The examining team provided various questions, input, and evaluations of the methodology, research findings, and practical implications of the dissertation. The scientific discussion reflected the commitment of the Doctoral Program in Economics, Faculty of Economics, Diponegoro University (FEB UNDIP), to maintaining research quality and producing outstanding doctoral graduates.

After completing the entire examination process, Karsinah was declared successful in defending her dissertation and was awarded a doctorate. This success was greeted with gratitude by her family, the promotion team, the examiners, and the academic community in attendance. The historic moment was immortalized in a group photo session as a symbol of appreciation for her academic achievement.
